    4/14/16 – Pro-Palestinian protestors successfully disrupted the “Israeli Soldiers Tour” that was hosted by Lobos for Israel by moving to the front of the room with a large sign saying, “Israel Out of Palestine”. Protestors chanted, “IDF, what do you say?” while students in the back of the room responded, “How many kids have you killed today!”

    1/14/15 – Students for Justice in Palestine – University of New Mexico was one of the signatories of a statement entitled “Say No to Faithwashing: Boycott Muslim Leadership Initiative,” which falsely accuses Israel of “ethnic cleansing” and “apartheid,” and pledges commitment to “the BDS call.”
    BDS ACTIVITY:BDS EVENT11/17/16 – SJP held the event, “Gaza from the Frontlines with Mohammed Omer.” During the event, audience members called for BDS.
    CALLS FOR BDS5/9/16 – The school newspaper published a letter titled, “Letter: Abolishing racist seal a step toward fixing power dynamics”, where the author stated, “we call for divestment from companies that profit from the Zionist occupation of Palestine.”
    BDS EVENT12/4/15 – Ali Abunimeh spoke about his book “The Battle for Justice in Palestine,” and promoted BDS. His talk was sponsored by the UNM SJP.
    BDS VOTES4/22/15 – The Associated Students of the University of New Mexico voted against an SJP-authored anti-Israel divestment resolution, 4-14-2, after 3 hours of heated discussion.

    June 1, 2015: The Staford Daily – Anti-Israel BDS boycott pushed again at UNM, Student Senate Pushes Back (Description note, “After failing to pass their anti-Israel boycott resolutions last year at the University of New Mexico, the Students for Justice in Palestine student club returned to the final meeting of the undergraduate student senate on April 22 to present their Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions resolution 12S, asking that the university divest from investments in corporations with ties to Israel. The meeting got started a bit after 6 p.m. at the UNM Student Union Building and, following a drawn-out debate, the resolution was failed at 9:45 p.m. by a large majority, with 14 votes against, 4 in favor, and 2 abstentions. As soon as their resolution 12S failed, the SJP supporters filed out of the room en masse. Following the defeat of 12S, the boycott resolution, Senator Caleb Heinz introduced emergency resolution 13S, which asked for transparency by the university on all its investments, and that would make it accountable in general about all human rights violations. 13S was quickly passed by the senate. The UNM Daily Lobo completely failed to report on the passage of this important resolution.”)
