Classification Date-Description
9/9/17 – A member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity carved a swastika into the wooden bar of the historically Jewish fraternity, Sigma Alpha Mu, during the Texas A&M-Nicholls State game. The fraternity member responsible had his fraternity membership terminated after the incident.
1/15/17 – The ADL reported that a student used swastikas in a public presentation. The date of the incident is approximated from ADL’s “Selected List of 2017 Anti-Semitic Incidents” report. No further confirmation or details about this incident are available.
DESTRUCTION OF JEWISH PROPERTY 10/30/16 – A sign identifying the campus Chabad Jewish student center was vandalized and then stolen. The vandal was caught on a surveillance camera kicking and knocking down the sign, and then returning to steal it.
DESTRUCTION OF JEWISH PROPERTY 8/24/16 – A 13-foot blue and white Hillel welcome banner that said “Shalom Y’all” was stolen and then later returned.
ANTISEMITIC EXPRESSION: HISTORICAL 3/31/17 – Antisemitic posters were found on campus that contained a Jewish star at the top with the text, “2% of the total U.S. population, 40% of Forbes 100 Richest, Question THEIR privilege. Visit”

(Description note, “A sign identifying the Chabad Jewish student center at Texas A&M University was vandalized and then stolen. An unknown vandal was caught on a surveillance camera kicking and knocking down the sign, and then returning to steal it, the local media reported. The incident occurred between 3 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Sunday….In August, a 13-foot blue and white Hillel welcome banner was stolen and then later returned.”)

Texas A&M Hillel – Texas A & M Student Senate Passes First Pro-Israel Resolution
(Description note, “The Student Senate of Texas A&M University unanimously passed the country’s first pro-Israel student government resolution on Wednesday, October 7. The resolution, “A resolution supporting the nation of Israel from the Student Senate of Texas A&M University,” called upon the university to invest in Israel and to expand study-abroad opportunities for A&M students in Israel.”)
