  • November 6, 2015 – Goucher College Jewish Student (Natalie) “As a queer person, I don’t feel welcome at TALQ BIG. The group has made a radical anti-Israel position a prerequisite for being a proud queer person on this campus. All who agree are welcome. Queer people who don’t fit into that box are not. It is a supposedly inclusionary tactic with disturbingly exclusionary results.”Read more
  • November 5, 2015 Jewish Goucher College Student (Max) “On this night however, I no longer feel comfortable being a Goucher student. I have become a target…No one on Goucher’s campus should ever feel bullied into silence. This is what happened tonight. We were attacked and we were bullied.” Read more

The Quindecim – Academic expert speaks on Hamas and Palestinian Statehood
(Description note, “Academic expert speaks on Hamas and Palestinian Statehood. “In terms of where Hamas and the conflict are at today, Brown did not have an answer. He described the current situation as “short term sustainable” and “halfway there to a one state solution,” seeing as Israel is currently a single Jewish state. He said he does not know what a one state that is inclusive of Gaza and the West Bank would look like, but believes a two-state solution to be “politically unviable.” Those in attendance learned from the history and perspective given by Brown. “I didn’t know the extent to which the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas had associated and found it very fascinating to see the oscillations that exist in their relationship,” Grossman commented.”)

Our presence at Club Rush was enough to incite fear among Zionist students and faculty. In fact, we have yet to hold a single event or direct action on campus. 4Tell me Goucher, why do we scare you so much?”)

AMCHA – Debriefing of On-Campus Event (Description note: Goucher College’s President released a letter detailing the disruption of the Goucher Hillel and Gopher Israel event, and illuminated that college officials made the decision to shut down the event stating, “After 45 minutes of Q&A, college officials became concerned about the dynamic of the dialogue and decided to end the event.” His letter also stated, “Moving forward, we will be evaluating actions before, during, and after the event to determine if any Code of Conduct violations occurred, and if they did, we will deal with them fairly, as set forth in college policies.”)

    November 6, 2015:
The Quindecim – Hollow activism: Flaws in Goucher’s activism culture
(Description note, “In regards to Assi Azar’s film and appearance this week, an email was sent on behalf of TALQ BIG to students in Hillel that stated if the organization “refuses to cooperate in this discussion and ignores our demands, We, TALQ BIG, will take immediate grassroots action for the event to be shut down.” TALQ BIG ironically uses the word “discussion” despite its own disregard for the word. This is not grassroots organizing. This is intimidation.”…. “As a queer person, I don’t feel welcome at TALQ BIG. The group has made a radical anti-Israel position a prerequisite for being a proud queer person on this campus. All who agree are welcome. Queer people who don’t fit into that box are not. It is a supposedly inclusionary tactic with disturbingly exclusionary results.”)
