In the News ?

February 23, 2016:
The Denisonian – Angela Davis returns to Denison
(Description note, “The activist spent her talk focusing on several topics that are as relevant to the obstacles she overcame in the 70s as they are for activists today. She began by reflecting on her time judging cases surrounding Palestinian affairs…Her latest novel, Freedom is a Constant Struggle: Ferguson, Palestine, and the Foundations of a Movement, relates back to the lyrics stated in the opening. “I like the critique and the inspiration [of the song],” Davis explained. She noted that she paid attention to the way the verses come across as statements, but are actually prompting us to dig deeper into their meaning.”)

November 3 2015:
The Denisonian – Response to ‘Divisive doesn’t have to be aggressive’
(Description note – a student responds to accusations grouping a pro-Israel group as a Jewish organization stating, “First, the article highlighted the issue of religion in the article. DU It for Israel is not a Jewish organization and has no affiliation with any religion. We aim to defend Israel’s right to exist, right to media coverage free of bias, right to defend itself and overall right to be judged fairly.”)
