3/5/18 – SJP erected a display in the quad outside of Goodwin Hall that contained numerous false, demonizing and delegitimizing statements. The display said, “May 15, 1948. Israel’s ‘Independence Day.’ Palestine’s Catastrophe! 700,000 Palestinians Expelled, ~5,000,000 Palestinians Killed, 70 Years of Occupation, 70 Years of Apartheid.”
DELEGITIMIZATION 3/8/17 – SJP held events for “Apartheid Awareness Week” consisting of an open-mic event, a scavenger hunt and a movie night. An article in the student publication highlighted the events and quoted the SJP President as saying, “There are a lot of people who personally have families who are going through the apartheid, so raising awareness about what’s going on is very important.” According to SJP, they “concluded Apartheid week with a short video and great discussion about the meaning of apartheid.”
DELEGITIMIZATION 3/14/16 – SJP held a series of events in honor of “Apartheid Awareness Week” to bring to light the false accusation that Israel is an apartheid state.
