The incidents below have been compiled from media accounts, student testimonies and eyewitness reports, and organized into the following categories:
- Targeting Jewish Students and Staff – Incidents that directly target Jewish students or other Jewish
members of the campus community for harmful or hateful action.
- Antisemitic Expression – Language, imagery or behavior deemed antisemitic by the U.S. State Department definition
of antisemitism, or wholly consistent with that definition.
- BDS Activity (for more information about BDS and antisemitism, click HERE)– Petitions, statements, meetings, events and rallies in which the anti-Semitic boycott, divestment, sanctions movement is promoted, supported, discussed, or voted on.
Each incident has been further classified according to its specific antisemitic content using criteria derived from the U.S. State Department definition of antisemitism. For more information on the subcategories of classification, click HERE.

Recent Campus Antisemitic Activity:
| January 16, 2018 – UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN –
Arab and Muslim American Studies at the University of Michigan, Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies and Digital Islamic Studies Curriculum held the event, “Inter/Nationalism: Decolonizing Native America and Palestine.” According to the description of the event, “Salaita offers a fascinating inside account of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement—which, among other things, aims to end Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land.” Later in the day, Jewish students expressed concern about Salaita’s lecture, with one student quoting from Salaita’s lecture and explaining, “Salaita was given a platform by faculty and repeated the age-old anti-Semitic statement that world’s problems are to be blamed on the Jewish people.”

The mezuzah on the office doorpost of the Jewish student body president was torn down in Kerckhoff Hall.
